Electric cargo bike

Foundation De Helpende Haan, led by Cas de Haan, has donated an electric cargo bike to Springplank. This cargo bike is meant for the social managers of the premises for Ukrainian refugees. Springplank is increasingly assigned reception locations by the municipality of Eindhoven, often old buildings on the waiting list to be demolished. The social managers have to make regular repairs to ensure that the residents are not in discomfort for an unnecessarily long time. With the electric cargo bike, the social managers can flexibly and efficiently visit several locations per day, with all necessary tools and materials at hand.

VDL Christmas hampers

In a wonderful collaborative project between VDL, Rijschool Wildenberg and Springplank, three candidates, Cecila, Mohammed and Abdulqadir, have been given the opportunity to obtain their driving licences free of charge. This was possible thanks to the generous donation of €3360 by VDL staff, who donated the value of their Christmas package. Rijschool Wildenberg applied a greatly reduced rate for this project, enabling these candidates to take an important step towards independence and employment.

Van from VDL

VDL has sponsored a van for Springplank Horeca. Mounir Toub: ‘The van enables us to deliver the prepared meals directly to the various locations on a daily basis ourselves. Both social care and shelter Ukrainian refugees then receive the meals and/or breakfast lunch bags HACCP responsible (chilled) on location. Without the refrigerated truck, we were very limited in offering meals to multiple locations (in a hygienically responsible way). We have 5 locations MO (from Springplank), 3 locations Ukraine and 2 external locations where we deliver the meals/bags daily.’

Ingredients for meals delivered at Springplank Horeca

Mounir says: ‘From a syrup waffle factory, I have on several occasions received syrup waffles with “a manufacturing defect”. The syrup waffle in the wrong packaging so it could not be sold. Then I got them so I distributed them to all Springplank locations, but other organisations (Salvation Army, food bank, primary schools, some churches, a mosque) also enjoyed the syrup waffles. There have also been occasional deliveries of a hefty load of soft drinks and various food boxes, which again have been distributed to the various locations. Such donations are always welcome (by agreement!) because it always ends up well within and outside the organisation.’

FC Robin

FC Robinstijn makes football-related childhood wishes come true, for children aged 5 to 18, who for whatever reason deserve to be put in the spotlight for a day. Our candidates' children are regularly invited to this!
