We spoke to Harry about his time at the shelter and the friendships formed there. Read the blog below!
Homeless shelter
‘I preferred not to stay in a homeless shelter in the first place but some persons made my day. These have been some fellow residents and supervisors. Friendships developed in the shelter and one person became a very good friend. We talked to each other every day.’
We live far apart
‘When I had my own flat outside the shelter, I visited him several times at the shelter and also at his new studio. I helped him paint and furnish his new flat. Now we live far apart. We no longer have telephone contact; I miss him every day. From another resident I met during that period, I still get a message every week asking how I am doing. That does me good.’
