Within Springplank, we are only too happy to help students during an internship or welcome them as working students. What is it like to work as a student at Springplank? We ask Tess and Tessa!

“Every day is different. Sometimes we start with the team, then first we chat about how things are going and then we discuss progress. In the end, you have a lot of your own freedom to get to work, but therefore also your own responsibility to keep colleagues informed and keep up with your task list. We work very nicely together, but so also well on our own.” Tells Tess. I mainly deal with visualising texts and stay in touch with my team. We keep each other informed about what we are working on and help each other where necessary.”.

“As an intern, I had a great time at Springplank! What I liked most was that I ended up in a very nice and friendly environment where I was given the space to explore different aspects of the organisation and gain useful experience for my studies. I had regular discussions with my internship supervisor so that together we could see what more I wanted to learn and this was always taken into account!” tells Tessa. After her internship, she stuck around as a working student “I enjoyed the work during my internship so much that I immediately seized the opportunity to become a working student in this friendly team!”.

The top 3 benefits of working as a student at Springplank according to Tess and Tessa:

  1. Flexible working hours. “Since my school schedule is different every week, I cannot work on the same days every week. Fortunately, this was not a problem as long as I let them know when I would be there.”
  1. A family culture. “At Springplank, there is a real family culture. Everyone is willing to help each other and have a friendly chat. You notice it right away when you walk into the office and are welcomed by the sweet dog Guus.”
  1. Freedom to explore. “You can let your curiosity go all the way within Springplank and explore what you enjoy learning!”

Tips from Tess and Tessa

  • Start talking about your goals and take advantage of them.
  • Don't be afraid to speak to colleagues, even if they are not on your team. It is nice to know many faces in the workplace, everyone is willing to help you.
