We spoke to Martijn about how he fills his days. He told us that he walks a lot and better still; that he also cleans up litter in the meantime. Read more about Martijn in the blog below!

Day care

‘I walk up and down to the day care every day. That's half an hour there and half an hour back each time. When I get home, I also walk two laps (and sometimes three) through town. Those are laps of 1 hour. I don't know how many kilometres that is. I don't think in distance but in hours. But if you walk an average of 5 kilometres an hour, that's at least 15 kilometres a day.’

Cycling is rushed

‘I don't walk the 4-days because that's 40 kilometres and that's really a lot. I walk because I don't want to cycle. Cycling is too rushed. I don't walk fast either, it's more strolling. I just enjoy walking around like this. It makes me feel relaxed and comfortable.’

Rubbish collection

‘While walking, I make it a sport to collect empty deposit bottles lying on the street. Today I have a full backpack. After all, that's Euro 3.50 and I can buy something nice from that again!’
