“Music brought us together” Dennis and Doris tell about how they met. Both have been candidates at Springplank and have experienced and learnt a lot during that period and this is what they are releasing a song about called ‘Tour du monde’. With this song, they hope to convey a message “I won't let my circumstances stop me”.

How did you get in touch with each other?

Dennis: “Through Doris” cousin, we met in the music world. We then also launched a YouTube channel where we started interviewing famous people and it was immediately very successful! Doris is also good on stage, but then again I am good at networking. Right away, there was a lot of trust in our collaboration and now it is more than that, because beyond music, we have really created a friendship. Then we bumped into each other again through Springplank. We didn't know about each other at first that we were both under the guidance of Springplank, but a staff member brought us together again because of our creativity, which was actually a coincidence."

What is your song about?

Doris: “A lot has happened in my life and around me, but I am not complaining about it. I have always found a way to deal with it and choose a positive side instead of a dark side. And this is what I try to tell in the song. ‘I won't stop myself, I'm going to do what I have to do anyway’ I say in the song. In it, I want to talk about the sunny side of life, despite the setbacks. One person's emotions are no less than another's, but the circumstances are different. With my song, I hope to touch people in this with the message: I will go out into the world and not hide behind the pain. So now when I smile, people also know, that's real.”

Dennis: “The song gives me goosebumps because it's a beautiful message and it really gives me joy.”

What do you hope to achieve with this song?

Doris: “To convey the message of my song to other people. We are humans, so it is not possible to be perfect or happy all the time and we don't need to hide that. For me, it works therapeutically and I hope I can make other people feel the same way with the song.”

Dennis: “We now get the opportunity to inspire through Springplank and we want to pass that on. When I was at Springplank, I didn't sit and wait for action, I took the initiative myself and look where we are now. That's what I hope to pass on! When other candidates hear the song and think, ‘hey Dennis and Doris have done something with those opportunities, I want that too!’ and then want to do something too.”

Doris: “You said that beautifully.”

Dennis: “Yeah that's because of your song *wink eye* hahaha.”
